Italo Pietrantonj Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Edna Valley when Francesco Porcarelli with hisItalo Pietrantonj is the oldest winery in Abruzzo, with house records dating back to 1791 and officially incepted in 1830. Currently in the 8th generation of family winemakers, sisters Roberta and Alice run the winery and estate. This wine is made in a very traditional style; very slow fermentation and then aging in large oak vats for 8 months. It is bold and structured, offering notes of tobacco, cedar, spice interlaced with earth and dark fruit.
