Selenite Bowl Size:2.4"R x 0.9"T held in sterling silverA small carved selenite bowl. Selenite is a translucent variety of gypsumhydrous calcium sulfatewith a soft satin sheen along its fibers. It is very soft (Mohs 2, scratched by a fingernail) and water soluble, so it must be kept dry; a damp cloth will dull the surface. Carved and polished from a single piece, the bowl glows when light passes through its translucent walls. Use it dry, for keys or jewelry rather than anything wet. One bowl per order.
