The Africa Star was awarded to British and Commonwealth forces who served in the North African campaign between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943

It was awarded particularly for service during air raids in World War Two

The Distinguished Flying Cross was established for Officers and Warrant Officers of the RAF for acts of valour against the enemy whilst in the air

including the Medal
